Oh! ye mortals! look around you,
You think those tribulations pertains to you,
It’s the darkest clouds that rains,
It’s the molten iron that bends,
It’s the fallen seed that grows,
These are your lessons for evermore.
Life is a teacher and you, a mere student,
Learn, for opportunity knocks only once, so be prudent.
Those desolate days and exasperating times of existence,
Tests your patience, perseverance and persistence,
Don’t just stay afloat in the river of life,
swim to the shore with hope to live and jive,
The knowledge and wisdom that life imparts you to sow,
seldom comes decorated with chocolates and bow,
Through fire she moulds and strengthens your resistance,
Through failure she toughens your resilience,
And to test your faith, she darkens your days.
As she is the best teacher, learn those life lessons patiently,
pass those trials bravely, and exalted you shall be.
…for never will you get textbooks to refer or foresee!
